I’ve been doing the water rides
slip-sliding down half tube-chutes of liquid
momentum of me making my heart race
afraid I’ll fly right out
over the top sky slide
on to rocks
the guy at the end laughs
at my palpitations
good ride he says
as I splash volumes of water
sea creature . . . landing
scrawny little boys
startled by the commotion
turn round to glare
"whale" they spit
jealous of my momentum their own spider legs struggle
for alignment as I
large, sleek with water, stride by
on my way up for another sliding.
